Prime vs Zoom Bokeh - Non Scientific Test !
Deciding on a new portrait and stuck between going for a prime L lens or a better Zoom L lens decided on a quick test to see the blur capabilities of
two of my exisiting lenses which are portrait capable First two shots are a direct comparison at similar focal lengths
Second two shots are a direct comparison of their best bokeh levels
Test info - distance to subject around 4 feet distance to flowers in bg around 15 feet
Camera used Canon 5Dmk2 at ISO 100 for all shots , no processing apart from crops at 100%
Lenses used Canon EF 70-200 F4L and Canon EF 85mm 1.8
There are obvious issues with colour fringing and focus which divide these two lenses which can be conquered with software and adjustment but here i am primarily after a bokeh comparison
